We switched our food projects from sit-in to delivery projects during the October/November lockdown. We also re-shaped one of our projects to provide free school meals to children during the Autumn half term holiday.
Following the successful Eat Out to Help Out scheme, we’ve got a few more special food offers for you. The Thursday fortnightly specials are now served weekly. We offer discounts for key workers and everyone else on different days of the week:
We are still serving our Sunday roasts on non home match days.

Rest assured you will be safe when you come to volunteer for a project, or participate as a client. Our Working Safely during Covid policy ensures that staff, volunteers, clients and customers follow the latest government guidance.
Once again the Antwerp Arms is hitting the headlines. You can read the full article in the Tottenham Community Press, September edition.
Come and try our new Thursday food specials. We will kick off with Indian on 10th September 2020. On the menu is buttery chicken tikka masala or chana palak masala served with homemade soft puri bread, basmati rice, garlic and lemon tender stem broccoli. We are throwing in a refreshing Tiger beer for £10. If you have space, and who doesn’t for ice cream, you can finish with a refreshing mango ice cream £12. This will coincide with our gallery launch, so you will be in good company.
The oldest working pub in N17 won the ‘golden gong’ for cask beer pubs in North London. Also known locally as the ‘Annie’, we scooped the North London Branch of CAMRA’s Pub of the Year 2020. We beat hundreds of pubs to this prestigious award.
The Award is given by the North London Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA). We won as a result of a vote open to 1600 local CAMRA members. Thanks to everyone who voted for us.
Colin Coyne, North London Branch Chairman, handing out the award said ‘The Antwerp Arms is the only community owned pub in North London and it’s a really worthy winner’.
The presentation took place at the Antwerp Arms (observing social distancing!) on Weds 5th Aug 2020.
The Antwerp Arms has joined the Eat Out to Help Out scheme. This will help us get the Antwerp back on its feet after being closed during the pandemic. It helps you because you can get delicious burgers, ice cream and soft drinks for half price. A fantastic way to try our new menu.
We will operate our scheme on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout August. You will get a 50% discount on your food and non-alcoholic drinks up to a maximum of £10.00 per person when you eat in with us. You can come back for the discount as many times as you like during August. This now includes the Bank Holiday Monday, when we will be open for drinks, BBQ and ice cream/lollies. Book your table now using our app
By popular demand, we are will be serving Sunday roasts again. Our first will be roast beef and all the trimmings. Following weeks will see different meats and a veggie option. We are also bringing back a couple of your favourite puddings – apple pie and sticky toffee pudding. Watch out for new puddings which will be added to our menu in time. Burgers won’t be available on Sundays.
Covid19 Feeding Project
At the start of lockdown, we launched a project to deliver hot meals to members of our community. The project was supported by our sponsors and partners:
- Haringey Giving
- Fair Share
- The Felix Project
- Haringey Reach and Connect
- Insight Platform
- Homes for Haringey
- North London Community Consortium
- Neighbourhood Watch
Volunteers collected food from a distribution centre near the stadium and cooked delicious meals. Other volunteers delivered over 1000 hot meals during the course of the project.
Another project, sponsored by National Lottery funding will continue preparing and delivering cooked meals in August, alongside the Eat N17 project.
This project has three strands:
- Gardening at the Antwerp. This takes place on Tuesdays at 10.30 am
- Social activities
Are you an experienced volunteer co-ordinator? We are launching a couple of community projects, and need someone to lead co-ordinating activities. The successful applicant will work with volunteers, pub staff, our clients and members of the committee to oversee the projects.
It’s a 15 hour per week part-time fixed term position for a year. You will need to work from the pub for at least 6 hours a week. You can work from home for the remainder of the week. Ideally, you will be available to start work from August 25th and be available for interview during the week commencing 17 August 2020. Application is by CV and a supporting statement setting out how you meet the requirements. All details are in the attached Community Volunteer Co JD July 2020 final docx document
